I didn't want to be with a foreigner but it came unwittingly. Many people can't imagine a relationship with a foreigner. But enough said to leave all prejudices and stereotypes and see a person who has the individual character traits like each of us, not the stereotypic traits of english, german or french nations. People in all countries differ, and certainly our character shapes the environment in which we grew up. But it's for us to decide about our life. Thanks cars, planes, different means of communication we don't have to look for a partner just in the closest environment. We can follow our heart no matter how far the heart is calling us. I'm happy that I changed my mind in the question of a relationship with a foreigner because I gained a lot. I'm happy that I left the prejudices and I let that everything happenned naturally in its own rhythm. I'm aware of the fact that the relationship with a foreigner won't always bring me only the advantages. If we stay together, one day we will be on the horns of a dilemma, for example in what country to live and many others.

The last English course and especially this image inspired me to share my experience connected with it. Two main benefits concern me in particular. The knowledge of a foreign language allowed me to know love. And that love let to me travel.
I have never thought seriously about having a boyfriend from abroad. Even just before knowing the boy I was an opponent of the long-distance relationship. My friend's boyfriend is a foreigner. When I saw how long they were messaging each other I thought that I could never speak like that. I mean to write long messages in the other language and explain everything. Secondly, I thought that I wouldn't wait long for a date with my boyfriend and see him just one or two times per a month.
But everything changed when the same situation started to concern me. Suddenly all these things become natural for me and I believed in my skills. Of course, sometimes we have a little problem with communication, it happens. We don't have to know all the words, we can explain or show almost everything. So far, our small linguistic mistakes have brought us only a few funny moments. I feel more self-assured because I can give big thing thanks to my knowledge of a foreign language. I also became more open-minded.

A few surprising things about France
![]() |
I
study romance philology and in my life I have found out many things
about France. But this summer I had the chance to go to France and
see those things with my own eyes. I would like to present some
things which suprised me in France
a) first of all, the fact that a baguette is always on the table. Even if we eat dishes which don't need to be eaten with it, this French bread must be present on the table. Finally, I was surprised that dinner was finished and nobody took the baguette during the meal and such a situation repeated a few times.
b) we know that the French people partake in a little alcohol before supper, this pre-dinner drink is called the aperitif. The authorized blood alcohol level in France is higher than in Poland. Nevertheless, it was surprising that
after a supper with alcohol, they get behind the wheel.
c) thirdly, French women are perceived as very elegant. I don't want to generalize but in my opinion it's an exaggeration. I saw women in a big city and they weren't particularly elegant or even well-dressed.
d) finally, I was surprised by the frequency of little kisses during greetings which are called 'bises'. I received kisses even from little children who I saw the for first time in my life.
I have presented some facts which I found haunting and unexpected. I hope that I will discover many, many more facts about this beautiful country.
